Notes - In 1851, David was residing in Johnstone, Dumfries, Scotland with his parents and siblings. He was employed as an apprentice carpenter under his father John, a carpenter employing 3 men.
In 1861, David Pattie was residing in Puslinch, Wellington, Ontario, Canada with his wife and children. He was employed as a carpenter.
In 1871, David's children were residing in Puslinch in the home of their uncle Andrew Ord. As David appears in later in Dallas, Texas, USA, with his son, John, it is unclear why he is not with his children in 1871. It is presumed that Mary died.
In 1874, 1875, and 1876 a David Pattie shows up in the tax rolls in Grayson County, Texas, USA, about 20 km north of Dallas. It's not known if this is the same David Pattie, but it fits and no conflicting data has been found.
In the 1900 census, David's son, John, living in Dallas, Texas, USA, was residing with his step-sister Bettie (surname illegible) suggesting that David remarried after Mary Ord's death and had a child by his second marriage by 1883.
David Pattie is buried alongside his son John Pattie and John's wife, Mary Jane Gidcumb, and their son, William King Pattie, in Dallas, Texas, USA. David's date of death is recorded on the stone as 20 Jan 1899.
