John and Hannah came to Canada in 1832 with their first four children who had been born in Yorkshire, England. They first arrived in Wellington Square, Halton County, Ontario (now the city of Burlington). "Later in the same year, John and Hannah with their children took an ox team and wagon to Nassagaweya Township.
