  Alexander is described in Stewarts of the South as one of James' two younger sons who were "at their education [and are] intended for the learned professions." Alexander's later whereabouts is unknown. He was previously mistakenly reported to be the following: "Alexander Stewart, joint tenant residing in Brackland, afterwards residing in Sheels. 3/5/1852." However, that testament belongs to Alexander Stewart in Easter Brackland, born 1761 in Wester Brackland.
