• Notes

Duncan was not fond of his father's warlike ways and preferred the pastoral pursuits of farming over fighting. In an attempt to build a bridge between the feuding families of Stewart of Invernahyle and Campbell of Dunstaffnage, Duncan married the daughter of his father's mortal enemy, for which his father was apparently very slow to forgive him.
