- He graduated from Manitoba Medical College in 1909 and served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in WWI, where he received injuries to his shoulder, arm, hand, neck, face and chest. He lost part of one hand. After the war he returned home and divorced his first wife. In the Fifties he received an award as the oldest practising GP in Canada. He is buried with Jean Turnbull Bridgman who died 1978, who could be his second wife.
He died in Scotland while visiting relatives. His remains were returned to British Columbia for burial.
