• Notes

  According to Mrs. Stewart of Milton's Account: "James who married Cath. Stewart from Edinburgh - he was in the Braes of Balquhidder." According to The Ardvorlich History, James and Catherine Stewart had no children. According to the Glasingall trial documents, James Stewart resided in Auchnahard and was a claimaint for the Glasingall estate. He later resided in Inverlochlarig "in the Braes."
