  James is described in Stewarts of the South as: "James Stewart, late tacksman of [L]orachans & Edralecheg, [which is the] same place. [James was] commonly called "the Black Serjant". [He] left three sons." The Callander OPR shows that James married firstly to Catharine Stewart as shown here, however no children have been found from that union.
