• Notes

  According to the Walker Family History, Alexander Stewart in Carnlia married Janet Stewart "of Lochearnside whose mother was a McLaren". Two such Janet Stewarts have been identified so far: Janet Stewart bap 8 OCT 1769 in Glentarken, daughter of John Stewart and Margaret McLaren; and Janet Stewart bap 1 FEB 1767 in Ardveich, daughter of James Ross Stewart and Catherine McLaren. Ardveich and Glentarken can both be considered as "Lochearnside". As Alexander Stewart and Janet Stewart in Carnlia had no son named James then the present arrangement is preferred, but is NOT proven.
