Her father, "Alexander Stewart in Gartnafuaran" is contemporary with Alexander Stewart, 8th of Gartnafuaran, but they are not the same persons, as Alexander, 8th of Gartnafuaran, was still alive in 1708, whereas Janet's father was described as already deceased by that point.
