- Mary Stewart is recorded in the Balquhidder OPR as "Decr 15 1854, Robert Stewart Farm Servant Laggan and Christian Stewart residing there? had a child begotten in fornication born 1 Feby 1854 baptd named Mary." This Robert is suspected as being Robert Stewart, bap 22 DEC 1823 in Immervoulin in Strathyre, son of Peter Stewart in Immervoulin. If so, then Robert's sister, Janet, was the wife of Robert Stewart, 2nd of Laggan.
In 1861, at age 7, Mary Stewart was residing at 13 Callander Road in Strathyre Village, Balquhidder, Perthshire, Scotland, with her mother. Residing with her was her 83 year old great-aunt Margaret McLaren (born 1778 in Balquhidder. Believed to be born 6 Jan 1777 in Balquhidder to Duncan McLaren and Girsel Lindsay.)
In 1871, at age 17, Mary Stewart was residing at Immereon in Glenbuckie, Balquhidder, Perthshire, Scotland, with her mother. She was working as a domestic servant for her uncle, John Stewart.
In 1881, at age 29, Mary Stewart was residing on Glenfinglas Road in Auchnahard, Glen Finglas, Callander, Perthshire, Scotland, with her paternal aunt, Marjory Stewart and her husband Charles Stewart. Mary was employed as general domestic servant.
Mary has not been identified in 1891. She may have married an unknown person, emigrated, or died.
