• Notes

  The Ardvorlich History says that Robert never married and died at age 43. Robert died in Bochastle on 19 MAR 1856. However, according to Mrs. Stewart of Milton's account, Robert in Bochastle had two sons in Glasgow. Census and parish records confirm Mrs. Stewart's account. Robert is found in 1851 as a farmer of 140 acres, employing five servants and residing at Bochastle Farm, Callander, Perthshire, Scotland. His wife Catherine and newborn daughter Christian are with him.
