• Notes

Stewarts of the South identifies Robert Stewart as “Rob mac Pha[t]rick mac Iain Dubh Beg, a tacksman at Lianach in Glenbuckie.” He is also identified as the father of "James Stewart, a tacksman in Lianach, and Patrick mac Ross mhic Pharick Stewart. whose son was also a tacksman at Lianach in Glenbuckie." From these patronymics we can determine that Robert Stewart was the son of Patrick Stewart who was the son of John Dubh Beg Stewart ("Little Black John"), who is identified earlier in the document as being the son of Duncan Stewart, 5th of Glenbuckie. We can also identify that Robert had two sons, James Stewart who lived at Lianach (identified as the patriarch of 1-Line of descendants), and Patrick Stewart (identified as the patriarch of 2-Line and 3-Line of descendants.)
