  Robert was witness to a sasine for the lands of Dalveich in 1656, recorded as "Robert Stewart in Monchyle" (according to James Stewart's, Settlements of Western Perthshire). It is with Robert's children that we see the first evidence of Monachyle being subdivided into at least three portions and this is the first time we see the use of the qualifying names Mor and Beag (big and little).
