• Notes

  Robert eloped with Consuelo when she was 18 because her parents refused to allow them to marry. His daughter Margaret says that he "always wore a tall silk hat, tails, trousers with a slik stripe down the side, and a cane, to church." Robert died at the age 34 of "convulsions of cerebral origin". After which, his wife and young children moved to Dunnville, Ontario, Canada to live with his widow's father.
