  This son's name is not known, nor has any record been found of him. His father, Alexander, is found in 1861 residing with two granddaughters (shown as daughters of this unknown son). As the granddaughters are surnamed Stewart then it is presumed their father was a Stewart and thus they would be the children of an unknown son of Alexander. However no record of such a son has been found and there is no record of the births of these daughters in the IGI. This son and his wife are presumed to have died after the birth of their second daughter in 1860 and prior to the 1861 census.
