• Notes

In 1851 Elizabeth was residing in Elgin, Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada as a labourer and a Presbyterian. She was residing with her birth family. Later census records have not been searched. Elizabeth is not recorded in other family histories and her sister, Sarah's later biography refers to Sarah as "the youngest daughter of John Brown and Margaret Thistle" which suggests that Elizabeth likely died young.
