Robert Fergusson, commonly called Rob-a-Clachair, or Robert the Mason, belonged to a family of builders, whose representatives are still resident in Balquhidder. Mr. Donald M'Laren of Ardveich has referred to his local fame both as a builder and bone-setter. This is the Robert Ferguson who built Ardvorlich House in 1799.
