Notes |
- On 25 May 1834, at age 27, Jean Stewart in Stronvar had a child born in fornication with Andrew McFarlane in Ballemore, called Jean. There are no Kirk Session minutes in Balquhidder for the year 1834, so there is no mention of this fornication having been brought to the Session. Jean's child, Jean Ferguson, is found residing with her mother in 1891, confirming this relationship.
Jean is found in 1891, at age 56, in Stronvar, Balquhidder, Perthshire, Scotland, with her half-brother, Donald Ferguson and his family. Jean was not married. It is believed that she had no children.
Jean also lived with her uncle and aunt Robert Stewart and Margaret Stewart.
"1834 May 25 Andrew McFarlane Ballemore and Jean Stewart Stronvar had a child in fornication baptized and called Jean." (Balquhidder OPR)
