  John Leonard Stuart on the death of Eileen Mary May Mulligan, gave his two children to his sister to raise and enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 24 Jun 1940, and served in the 8 Div. From 1942 until the surrender of the Japanese 1945 and was a POW in Changi Prison Singapore. He was discharged on the 13 Nov 1945 as a Staff Sergeant.
