Notes - Robert Stewart and his family have not been identified in Stewarts of the South. It appears that this line may have died out in the male line or emigrated prior to the authoring of Stewarts of the South (ca. 1815-1820), which could explain their absense from that document.
This family may be Glenbuckie III.3 Ardcheanochdan, Duart and Wester Brig o Turk.
This family also matches losely with the description of the family of Andrew Stewart in Blairgarry of the Stewarts of Blairgarry in their migratory patter from Blairgarry to Cuilantogle and latterly to Doune. Furthermore,
Robert Stewart of Blairgarry, who, with his mother, had the rental of the crown lands of Blairgarry, in the lordship of Strathgartney, in 1503, which he disponed to Thomas Graham of Boquhapple on 16 April 1558 and apparently died without children. (MacGregor) There is mention of Robert Stewart in Blairgarry in the Exchequer Rolls of 1502-7. The lands of Blairgarry later returned to the Stewarts of Gartnafuaran as Duncan Stewart's 1739 History implies that the lands of Blairgarry belonged to the oldest cadet branch of Gartnafuaran.
This family may have been initially the senior line of Blairgarry. However, they also match closely with Gartnafuaran IV Sean Rob vic Alasdair Oig in Duart and Coilantogle.
