Notes |
- Margaret Stewart was born in 1812 in Dunblane (probably Greenloaning), Perthshire, Scotland.
About 1818, when Margaret Stewart was about 6 years old, her parents and siblings left Scotland and came to Canada. They are believed, but not confirmed to have settled initially in Ste. Martine, Huntington, Quebec, Canada, where, in 1825, a census record has been found that matches her parents' family.
About 1832, at age 20, Margaret Stewart is presumed to have married in North Monaghan, Peterborough County, Ontario, Canada, to Richard Lillico, although no record of their marriage has been found. They began having a family together in North Monaghan in 1833.
In 1851, at age 40, Margaret Lillico, just recently widowed, was residing in Easthope, Perth, Ontario, Canada, with her children, living not far from her parents. (Her entry is four pages away from her father's entry in the census.)
In 1861, at age 48, Margaret Lilllico was residing in a frame house in Easthope, Perth, Ontario, Canada, as a widow with her children. Also residing with them was her nephew, Titus Craven (12). They were living next door to her widowed father, Daniel Stewart, who was residing in a log cabin with Titus' brother, Charles Craven (10) residing with him.
(Find-a-Grave has a gravestone transcription entry for Margaret and her husband Richard Lillico, but shows an incorrect birth date and incorrect parents for her.)
