• Notes

  According to family tradition, Janet Stewart married James Fisher and had three children with him. She died shortly after the birth of her son, John Fisher, who was then raised by his uncle John Stewart and his aunts Katie and Kirsty Stewart. Katie and Kirsty Stewart are found in census records in 1851, 1861, and 1871, with John Fisher's widow, their niece, Christian McGregor.
