In 1891, at age 46, Mary Stewart was residing at Kirkton Farm, Balquhidder, Perthshire, Scotland, with her husband Donald McLaren and their children. Also residing with them was Jemima Stewart (20), servant, born in Edinburgh. She is found in other census records with Stewart relatives who came from Kenmore and is believed to be not related to Mary Stewart.
