Notes - Alexander Stewart's birth family is not confirmed. He appears to be a match for Glenbuckie III-Branch, 1-Line as the son of James. However, he may be the brother of James with the son, James, who was a grocer in Glasgow. He is the only Alexander Stewart in Ardcheanchdan in the mid-late 1700s.
1772, Alexander STEWART in this parish and Margaret STEWART in the parish of Comrie were listed 8th August and married 10th of Do. (Callander parish register)
The following birth is the only other birth for an Alexander Stewart in Ardcheanochdan in the same date range.
29 May 1781, 3 Jun 1781, John, son of Alexander STEWART and Isabell STEWART in Ardkenknokan.
Chances are good that this is Margaret Stewart's sister, suggesting their father was named John Stewart.
