| Notes |
- Duncan Stewart was born 2 Jan 1798 in Drymen Village, Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland as the eldest son of John Stewart and Mary Battison. He was named after his paternal grandfather, Duncan Stewart.
He was likely still alive in 1815 as Stewarts of the South, c. 1815, says that five of John Stewart's six sons were living. It does not indicate which ones.
In 1841, at age 40, he is believed but not confirmed to be the Duncan Stewart residing in the Village of Drymen, Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland, in the home of 70-year-old Christian Finlay.
Duncan has not been found in later records. (He is not the Duncan Stewart who married Jane McLaren. That is Duncan Stewart in Bohellachan and Thornhill from the Stewarts in Achra family.)
