• Notes

Isabel McNair is presumed to have been born about 1760 as a daughter of Robert McNair and Christian Stewart, although no record of her baptism has been found. Isabel McNair married on 17 May 1783 in Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland, to Robert Stewart. Their marriage record indicates that her father is Robert McNair in Garterich. "1783 - Robert Stewart in Bohellachan and Isabel McNair daughter of Robert McNair in Garterich listed their names for proclamation on (sic, of) Banns the seventeenth day of May [uncertain] and eighty three." (Drymen Parish Register) Isabel McNair and Robert Stewart had two recorded children and possibly more.
