  "March 12th 1668 - On this day Walter McFarlane in Auchmar Elizabeth Buchanan son baptized called Walter. Witnesses George Car[illegible]hall and [illegible] Ferguson(?)" (Buchanan Parish Register) "Walter MacFarlane, Gentleman, who was born circa 1668 in Scotland, and lived there at Lurg farm in Buchanan Parish, Stirlingshire in 1728. He had been at Arrochybeg farm in the same parish up until 1715, having married (1688) Katherine MacKerracher, from Aberfoyle Parish in Perthshire, Scotland, with whom he had issue seven children, a daughter and six sons."
