| Notes |
- Based on the witnesses to her daughter Janet's baptism, Janet Stewart was likely as sister of Hugh and James Stewart in Ballachaish.
Janet Stewart was born on 19 Jun 1754 in Bridge end of Doune, Kilmadock, Perthshire, Scotland as a daughter of Alexander Stewart and Janet Stewart. Her baptism was witnessed by Hugh Stewart and James Stewart, both in Ballacaish. It is likely that Hugh and James were uncles, but since both father and mother were Stewarts it is difficult to know whose brothers they were. Given that the child baptised was named after her mother, it seems more likely that Hugh and James were maternal uncles, but this is far from certain.
