Notes - David Maxwell Stewart appears to have been conceived hastily before his father shipped off to war, and blessedly so or David would not have existed.
The draft legislation was passed in August 1917. Notifications were sent out in November 1917 to eligible men of fighting age. David's father was drafted on 31 Jan 1918. His parents married on 1 Apr 1918 and David was born exactly two months later on 1 June 1918, suggesting that his mother was seven months pregnant when they married and that he was likely conceived in early September, shortly after the draft legislation passed. David's father was killed in action on 27 Sep 1918 when David was just three months old.
