Notes - John Cuthbert of Wester Drakies is recorded as Provost of Inverness from 1636-1638. He is recorded as having received a remission on 1 NOV 1646 and 16 JAN 1647 from Maj. Gen. Middleton, presumably for his participation in the Scottish Civil War of 1645. If so, then he must have been a Royalist under Montrose.
John's father, siblings and children are not confirmed but represent this author's best guess based on available evidence as to the likely accounting of the family of Cuthbert of Drakies.
