  As Elizabeth was married in Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland, while her husband resided in Kincardine, Perthshire, Scotland, Elizabeth is presumed to have come from Comrie parish. It's certain that she was born there, though the Dewar surname was common in Comrie. As she does not appear in Scottish census records, and Canadian census records only record her place of birth as "Scotland" it is difficult to confirm her place of birth. No confirmed birth record has been found for her. The only close birth is Elizabeth Dewar, bap 28 APR 1800 in Killin, Perth, Scotland, daughter of Alexander Dewar and Mary McDiarmid.
