  VALENTE, Doreen It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doreen Valente on June 6, 2024 in her 93rd year. Reunited with her husband of 47 years Martino (Marty). She will be remembered by her step- daughter Angela (Gil). Predeceased by her parents Robert and Zella Duncan, her brother Gerald (Roberta),her sister Marlene(John), her nephew Richard, and niece Janet. Cherished aunt to Susan (Tony), Robert (Alyson), and Laurie (Fernando). Loving great-aunt to Wade (Jeanette), Adam (Tawnya), Jonathan, Ashley, Kayla (Andrew), Amy (Shane), Carlo (Madison), and James. Loving great-great aunt to Ava, Paige, Sloane. She will be missed by many extended family and friends. Doreen graduated from nursing school here in Hamilton and worked at all the hospitals becoming a charge nurse at St. Joes. She later went on to teach nursing at Mohawk College for many years. She will also be remembered for the beautiful gardens she kept. A special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Juanilow, Anelyn, and Ashley. Nurses Suzanna and Sandy. Care coordinators Mary Ellen and doctors: Dr Jennifer Martini and Dr Anna Mathew. A funeral mass will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Hamilton (19 Viewpoint Ave.) on Friday, June 14th at 1:00p.m. Cremation has taken place. If so desired in lieu of flowers donations to the Hamilton SPCA would be appreciated.
