  From the Records of the Clan and Name of Fergusson/Ferguson and Fergus, edited by James Ferguson and Robert Menzies Fergusson (Edinburgh, 1899) Lochearnside Fergussons. (The origins of this family were said to be in Balquhidder.) Along the side of Lochearn the clan was well represented, and many of the name resided near St. Fillans. Mr. Peter Ferguson, one of the founders of the Clan Society, who is in the service of the General Post Office, London, furnishes an account of his family for five generations: Peter Ferguson, Lochearnside, married Mary Stewart, Fortingall (sic. Mary was from Comrie. It was Peter's son, Robert, who married a Stewart from Fortingall.). 1. Robert. 2. Peter, died at St. Fillans a few years ago. 3. Donald, died young. 4. Mary, and others. Mr. James Ferguson, Muthill, is a son of one of these. (Note: there was a son of this family named James.) The account continues in the notes for the later generations.
