  Obituary The Lanark Era Newspaper (Issue of Wednesday, Nov 18, 1908) At McDonald's Corners, Nov. 2nd, John Ferguson, aged 93 years & 7 months. He was born at Balquidder, Scotland April 1815. In 1841, he and his young wife, Catherine Stewart, came to Canada, settling in North Sherbrooke. They had eleven Children, six sons and five daughters, all living; Peter, Alex., Duncan and Christina, all on the homestead; Dan & John in Palmerston; Mrs. Wm. Millar, Dalhousie; Mrs. Robert Dixon, Fallbrook; Mrs. George Avery, Bathurst; Mrs. Thomas Lyle, Durrwood, Manitoba; and Robert, in Sherbrooke. Burial in the Highland Line Cemetery.
