Madam, Your claim No. 536084 under general law, as the minor child of Worthington Luce, late of Co. "B" 136 New York Vols. is rejected on the ground that the soldier's death from diphtheria as shown by evidence obtained by a Special Examination, was not in any manner due to his milityary service, and for the further reason that you were over sixteen years of age at the date of filing the claim, December 17, 1891. Very respectfully, (signature unreadable), Commissioner.
