Notes - Matthew had two daughters, Mary and Hannah. According to IGI records it appears that he had these daughters by two different mothers. In 1861, just a couple of months prior to the birth of Matthew's first daughter, Mary, by a mother named Mary, Matthew is found living at Plashetts Farm, Northumberland, with the Dagg family, who have a daughter named Mary who is the same age as Matthew. It is suggested that she is an obvious candidate to be the mother.
It appears that Matthew then had a second daughter, Hannah, by a mother named Margaret in 1862.
In 1871 these two daughters are living with Matthew's parents
