"Mariota" is recorded by MacGregor as the daughter of Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgie, in his Graham chapter, however the Oliphant chapter shows no such daughter for Sir John Oliphant. Stirnet adds a note saying that this Mariota is often confused for the Mariota Oliphant, daughter of Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgie who married ROBERT Graham, brother of Sir William Graham. On this rare point I follow Stirnet over MacGregor.
